At roughtly 8,500 feet and called the "The City Above the Clouds" by long time resident Cal Elder, Woodland Park often enjoys clear skies while weather in neighboring towns may be rainy or overcast. The city enjoys a fine view of Pikes Peak. Woodland Park offers easy access to hiking, climbing, and fishing. Because of the city's location, there is a natural limitation to population growth. A number of full-time musicians reside in Woodland Park and the surrounding areas, and arts festivals have become more frequent in recent years, often held at the Ute Pass Cultural Center. Woodland Park is also the site of the Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center, a museum devoted to dinosaurs and fossils.Notalbe residents of Woodland Park include former NASA astronaut Robert L. Stewart and race car driver Clint Vahsholtz.

The Protecting the American Dream Biker Rally is brought to you by the Woodland Retail Alliance. This rally is a non-profit chariety event created to benefit the Children of Fallen Soldiers and the greater Woodland Park community.
Started
in 2007, the "Woodland Retail Alliance" (WRA) began to align local
business, to build the community of Woodland Park through the power of pro-active
business leaders.
We work strictly through
volunteerism - there are NO paid employees. We
are local business owners that share the workload simply because we care to improve the downtown Woodland Park area
as our primary focus
We have historically met once a month but as we near large sponsored
events, this increases. Some of our largest events in 2008 will be the
Music Week, Pikes Peak Hill Climb, and our largest fund raiser, the Protecting the American Dream Biker Rally.
We thank everyone in the community that has supported us and stay tuned and involved as we move toward our greatest
challenge: "Woodland Station" - a major development that will help to
reshape the downtown of Woodland park for residents and visitors.
